spiders

there is currently a very large, child-sized spider ominously looming on my entry way ceiling. the thought of tossing my cat up there in hopes that it will eat the spider mid air, has crossed my mind. it was suggested to me to, 'hit it with a mop' but i'm afraid i'll miss since my aim isn't very good, then it will fall to the ground and eat my family.
